Nevada drops season finale at UNLV

Concludes season with 4-14 record

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Finishing with a 4-14 record and 3-8 in Mountain West play, Nevada fell in its season finale at UNLV on Friday night by a score of 2-0. Freshman Gabby Brown cemented herself as the Wolf Pack's single-season leader in shots taken with 75, and goalkeeper Kendal Stovall moved into fourth all-time in career saves with 216, passing Dana Moreno who has 2011 in her career.

Nevada tied its win total from last season with four, but tripled its wins in conference play, showing improvement under all three seasons with head coach Erin Otagaki at the helm.

The Rebels took an early lead over the Pack, after earning a penalty kick in the first four minutes of regulation to hold a 1-0 advantage going into the half. The goal, scored by Michaela Morris, ended up being the game-winner.

In the second half, Nevada had a couple more chances offensively but were unable to capitalize. The Rebels scored an insurance goal in the 69th minute courtesy of Malika Markham.

Stovall tied her career-high with 12 saves on the night, giving her 117 on the year to lead the Mountain West. Brown finished the season as Nevada's leading goal scorer, including one game winner and an assist.
