STOCKTON, Calif. – University of Nevada junior
Julien Evrard's three set match victory clinched Nevada's 4-3 win at Pacific on Sunday. With the victory the Wolf Pack improve to 2-1 while the Tigers dropped to 1-2.
Nevada travels to Eugene, Ore. this weekend to play Portland on Friday and Oregon on Saturday.
With the match tied 3-3 Evrard fought back after dropping the first set 6-2 to win the second set 7-5 and force a third set. The third set went to a tiebreaker won by Evrard 7-4 to clinch the 4-3 victory for the Pack.
Nevada earned the doubles point after winning the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches. Evrard teamed with
Kostya Nesterenko for a 6-2 win on court 1.
Dylan Levitt and Gvidas Motuzas scored a 7-6 victory on court 2 to clinch the point.
Pacific tied the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles by Ross Watson over Nesterenko and moved in front with a win at No. 5 singles. The Pack got victories from Delmas N'tcha on court 3 and
Daniel Dudockin on court 6 to take a 3-2 advantage.
The Tigers' Tadiwa Chinamo won 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at No. 3 singles to even the match at 3-3. Evrard's rally at No. 1 singles gave Nevada its second win of the season.
