STOCKTON, Calif. – The Nevada volleyball team fell to the Pacific Tigers, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon. The Pack moves to 7-4 on the season.
Sophomore outside hitter Kayla Afoa led the team with 12 kills while the junior Jamila Minor tallied seven of her own. The junior setter Dalyn Burns led the team with 20 digs and nine digs.
The first set was much different than the following two. Nevada came out with high intensity and recorded a .357 hitting percentage in the first set, only allowing one attack error. The set saw a back-in-forth action all the way until the score was tied 28-28. The Tigers pulled the final two points out after two kills from Allison Dennemann to take it 30-28.
The 28 points the Pack scored in the first set, was the highest amount in a single set this season.
In the second and third sets the Pack offense struggled to find a rhythm, only notching four kills in both sets two and three. The Pacific Tigers combined for 18 kills in the second set and 14 in the third for a .356 overall hitting percentage on the night while the Pack marked a .127.
