RENO, Nev. - Two members of the Nevada women's golf team have been honored as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Â
Celyn Khoo and
Kaitlin Collom received the honor for the 2017-18 academic year. A total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 needed. This is Khoo's fourth honor and Collom's third.
Â
Khoo, who recently earned her bachelor's degree in ecohydrology, collected six top 15 finishes in 10 events in her final season and set the single season scoring record. Collom, a kinesiology major who enters her senior season in the fall, notched a top 15 finish at the Sacramento State Invitational this past year and carded a season low round of 69.
Â
These two honorees from Nevada are among 24 to earn the distinction from around the Mountain West. New Mexico led the conference selections with five.
