Nevada tops Boise State on the road 4-3

Home against San Diego State on Friday

Box Score

BOISE, Idaho – Nevada (13-5, 2-2 MW) evened its conference record with a 4-3 victory at Boise State (8-14, 1-4 MW) on Sunday. The Wolf Pack will compete at the McArthur Tennis Center for the first time this season when it hosts San Diego State next Friday at 11 a.m.

Senior Robert Margitfalvi clinched the match for the Wolf Pack on court No. 3 with a 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 comeback victory over Matteo Tinelli. Margitfalvi is currently on a team-high three match win streak.

The Pack won its 16th doubles point of the season and its third in conference after the sophomore tandem of Julien Evrard and Kostya Nesterenko topped Kyle Butters and Jack Heslin 6-3 on court No. 1. Margitfalvi and freshman Jeremy Merville picked up their team-high 12th doubles victory on the day.

The Broncos regained the lead after winning the first two singles matches, but Evrard picked up his eighth victory on court No. 1 with a 7-6, 6-1 win to tie the score 2-2.

After a BSU victory on court No. 2, Augustin Delahodde was victorious on court No. 5 defeating Mattia Bedolo 7-5, 6-3 to keep both squads deadlocked at three.

Margitfalvi's singles match was the only one to reach a third set, but his victory gave Nevada its second Mountain West victory of the season. The Pack will look to gain more ground in the conference when it hosts San Diego State and UNLV at the McArthur Tennis Center next weekend.
