LOGAN, Utah. – Playing its third conference match of the season, Nevada (12-5, 1-2 MW) lost in the last singles match of the afternoon to fall at No. 50 Utah State (13-8, 4-0 MW) on Friday. The Wolf Pack drops to 1-2 in conference play and will look to even its record at Boise State this Sunday.

The match was tied 3-3 and went to a tiebreaker on court No. 5. The Aggies' Jose Carvajal defeated junior Augustin Delahodde 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-0) in three sets to clinch the victory for Utah State.

The contest began in the Pack's favor, doing what it has done all year by taking the doubles point. Sophomores Julien Evrard and Kostya Nesterenko earned the first doubles victory on court No. 1 with a 6-3 win. After the Aggies took the match on court No. 2 over Jeremy Merville and Robert Margitfalvi 7-6 (8-6), Delahodde and senior Peter O'Donovan won on a tiebreaker on court No. 3 7-6 (10-8) to give Nevada a 1-0 lead.

The Pack's lead quickly increased to 2-0 after Merville avenged his doubles loss with a 7-6, 6-4 victory on court No. 4. Nevada then took a 3-0 lead when Margitfalvi came back to win 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 on court No. 3.

Utah State never quit, and rattled off four straight singles victories to close out the match and win 4-3. Three of its victories came in the third set, including Carvajal's victory over Delahodde to keep the Aggies' perfect in Mountain West Play.
