Box Score ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Entering conference play with an 11-3 record, the Nevada men's tennis team (11-4, 0-1 MW) fell at New Mexico (11-7, 1-0 MW) on Friday afternoon 4-1. The Wolf Pack will face Air Force on the road this Sunday to try and even its conference record in its first weekend of Mountain West play.
Nevada lost only its second doubles point of the season today, beginning with a tough loss on court No. 1. Sophomores Julien Evrard and Kostya Nesterenko fell 6-4 to Jorge Escutia and Bart Van Leijsen. Ricky Hernandez-Tong and Stepan Holis clinched the doubles point on court No. 3 after taking down the Pack tandem of Augustin Delahodde and Peter O'Donovan.
The Lobos took a 2-0 lead after defeating Robert Margitfalvi on court No. 3, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Jeremy Merville gave Nevada its lone point of the day next, finishing his match on court No. 4 defeating Escutia 7-5, 6-0.
New Mexico secured the victory afterwards, defeating O'Donovan on court No. 3 and ending Delahodde's three-match win streak on court No. 5 to clinch the match 4-1.
Nevada will be back in action tomorrow at Air Force to try and earn its first Mountain West victory of the season. A live stream of the match will be available here.
