RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is moving along in its spring season and will look to defend its title at the Fresno State Classic this week on March 5 and 6 from Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
 
"We are looking forward to playing a golf course that suits our game a little more," said head coach Kathleen Takaishi. "We need to get back to committing to our process and game plan. I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish this week."
 
The two-day event begins Monday morning with the first 18 holes of play. The 11 participating teams will play round two later in the afternoon on Monday. The third and final round will be played Tuesday morning.
 
Nevada has competed in the Fresno State Classic in eight out of the last nine years. This week will mark the third straight season participating in this event, but the first at Copper River Country Club. The Wolf Pack won this event in 2017 at San Joaquin Country Club by two shots over Cal Poly, Fresno State and UC Riverside.
 
Takaishi will send six competitors to the event with junior Kaitlin Collom entered as an individual. As for Takaishi's lineup, the five featured include the same five from the team's last event in seniors Celyn Khoo and Jordan Keyser, junior Chaithra Katamneni and sophomores Jenny Krause and Katy Rutherford.
