Box Score DAVIS, Calif. – Securing its ninth win of the season, Nevada (9-3) finished up at the Golden State Invitational placing fifth after taking down Sacramento State (3-9) 4-2. The Wolf Pack will play at home at the McArthur Tennis Center on Saturday for the first time this season when it hosts UC Davis at 1 p.m.
The Pack began the match 1-0 after securing its 11th doubles point of the season. The sophomore tandem of
Kostya Nesterenko and
Julien Evrard won the first match on court No. 1 by a score of 6-3. After
Jeremy Merville and
Robert Margitfalvi fell for just the second time this season,
Augustin Delahodde and
Peter O'Donovan came up clutch for the Pack by winning 6-4 on court No. 3 to secure the point.
In singles, Nevada grabbed victories on the top two courts to give itself three points in the match. Evrard defeated Mikus Losbergs 6-3, 6-4 on court No. 1, and Nesterenko bested Dom Miller 6-2, 6-3 on court No. 2.
Senior
Peter O'Donovan clinched the match with a court No. 5 victory over Louis Chabut 6-4, 7-5 to give Nevada its second victory over the Hornets this season. O'Donovan is tied for first on the team with seven singles victories.
Nevada will play a match Saturday, March 17 against UC Davis at home at 1 p.m. as well as a match on March 18, where it will battle the University of Idaho. Both contests will have
