Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Against the No. 44 ranked Cal Poly Mustangs (7-4), the Nevada men's tennis team (6-1) suffered its first loss of the spring in a 5-2 defeat. The match was played at Loyola Marymount, on the LMU Tennis Courts.
With an incredible 15-3 record in doubles in the spring, the Wolf Pack wasted no time grabbing the first point of the match. Augustin Delahodde and Peter O'Donovan began the match with a 6-2 win over Roman Shenkiryk and Andrew Whitehouse on court No. 3.
Jeremy Merville and Robert Margitfalvi improved their record to 7-0 together as a tandem this spring by clinching the doubles point on court No. 2, topping Karl Enander and Dominic Bechard 7-5.
Antoine Noel quickly tied the match with the start of singles play, cementing a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Kostya Nesterenko on court No. 3. The Pack's lone singles victory came from Julien Evrard on court No 1, defeating Josh Ortlip 6-1, 7-5.
The Mustangs swept the remaining singles matches, with the clinching point coming on court No. 4. Axel Damiens earned a 6-2, 7-6 victory against Merville to secure the victory, as Cal Poly ended the afternoon with a 5-2 victory.
