SAN ANTONIO – Following a strong performance on the opening day of the MW Championship, the Nevada swimming and diving team sits in a tie for first place with San Diego State, scoring 189 points in the process. The Wolf Pack won two out of the three events on the day, including the program's first relay at a conference championship since joining the MW.
Senior
Sharae Zheng continued her reign of dominance, winning the 1-meter springboard with a score of 352.41, marking her third consecutive year winning the event at the conference championship. She also came out on top of the preliminary rounds of the event, winning with a score of 327.93.
Zheng was also joined in the top three by junior
Sio I Lei who placed third in the 1-meter springboard after scoring 300.48 points in the event. Junior
Toma Shmitova won the B final, recording 284.85 points to finish ninth overall.
On the swimming side, Nevada began the day with a seventh place finish in 200-yard medley relay but quickly turned things around in the final competition on Wednesday. With nearly a three second cushion, the Pack beat out reigning MW Champion Boise State to win the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:08.17 for the program's first relay win at the conference championship since joining the MW.

Andressa Cholodovskis and
