RENO, Nev. – In the second match of its four-game homestand, Nevada (4-8-2, 1-5 MW) allowed a goal late in the second half that lifted Fresno State (3-9-2, 2-3-1 MW) to a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Wolf Pack now sits at 1-5 in Mountain West play this season.
Both teams finished with seven shots on the afternoon, but the biggest came from the Bulldogs in the 78th minute. Tori Nicolo scored her team-high fourth goal of the season during a battle in the Nevada box, where she was able to drill her shot into the back of the net among all the action.
One of the best scoring opportunities for the Pack came from freshman
Olivia Carter, who in the 56th minute used her speed to break away along the left sideline and drill her shot right into the keeper.
The Nevada defense held strong for most of the match, only allowing three shots on goal. Freshman
Kendal Stovall recorded both of her saves in the first half of the match.
Neither team was able to score in the first half, marking the ninth time this season the Pack has ended the first 45 minutes tied with its opponent. Nevada is 3-5-1 in those matches.
Nevada will continue its homestand next weekend, with matches against San Diego State and New Mexico in Mackay Stadium on Friday and Sunday. Tickets for those contests and the rest of the season's home matches are available at
