LOGAN, Utah - In a game that saw eight lead changes, most in the final quarter, the Nevada women's basketball team dropped a 60-57 road contest at Utah State Saturday afternoon.

Nevada (10-15, 4-10 MW) trailed by five at halftime, but outscored the Aggies (14-12, 7-8 MW) 19-13 in the third quarter to take the lead into the final period. In the midway mark of the last quarter, sophomore Riana Everidge hit a clutch three-point shot that put the Wolf Pack ahead by seven with 5:31 remaining. Utah State's Rachel Brewster started to take over for her team though, scoring 10 of the Aggies next 14 points.

Slowly Brewster started to cut into the Pack's lead and connected on a game-tying three with 2:39 to play. A free throw by Eliza West and a layup by Brewster 15 seconds later, put the Aggies ahead once again, 56-53. A couple of unsuccessful possessions by both teams ticked nearly a minute and a half off of the clock. With Nevada down by three and ready to inbound, Everidge got the scoop layup to fall with 25 seconds, and brought her team to within one.

On the ensuing inbound by Utah State, sophomore MorningRose Tobey stole the ball and a fury of shots broke out. Ultimately sophomore Terae Briggs was called for her fifth personal foul which sent Shannon Dufficy to the line, where she made both. Needing a three-pointer for the tie, senior Stephanie Schmid put up what would be the game-tying shot and was fouled. Schmid, who is shooting 90 percent in league play from the line, hit just two of the three. Forced to foul the opposing team, Utah State's West was sent to the line and connected on both free throws, extending the Aggies' lead back out to three. With 2.2 seconds on the clock, Nevada's inbound pass was tipped and sealed the win for Utah State.

Sophomore AJ Cephas posted a new career high in the game with 17 points off the bench, finishing 8-of-10 from the field, and added eight rebounds. Everidge also proved productive off the bench as she scored 16 points. Nevada as a team had a down game from the free throw line, hitting just 60.7 percent (17-of-28). The Pack also set a season low with just 10 turnovers.

Nevada remains on the road for its next contest and will take on Boise State next Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. PST.
