PRIOR TO NEVADA – Junior College transfer out of Arizona Western College, where she earned an associate’s degree in arts, general studies … Posted a slew of athletic honors during her two years at Arizona Western, sophomore: NJCAA All-American, ACCAC Player of the Year, ACCAC first team all-conference, NJCAA Region I Division I first team, three-time All-ACCAC Player of the Week, team captain … Freshman: ACCAC third team all-conference, NJCAA Region I Division I second team, All-ACCAC Player of the Week … During her sophomore season she ranked first in the nation with 126 made three-pointers on the year, ranked third in the nation with a 90.4 free throw percentage, and ranked ninth in the nation by averaging 20.8 points per game … She was the only player in the nation to average more than four made three-pointers per game … Scored over 1,000 points in her two years at Arizona Western.
HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Lake Zurich High School where she was an honor roll student all four years and a two-year letterwinner in basketball … Played for coach Christopher Bennett … Racked up numerous athletic honors following the 2012 season: Chicago Sun Times All-Area, All-Suburban North Conference team, Lake County All-Star, Co-ed three-point contest champion at the Lake County All-Star game, Daily Herald Player of the Month … Played AAU for Full Package Athletics, played with and against Full Package member Jewell Lloyd, who played at Notre Dame and is now in the WNBA with the Seattle Storm.
PERSONAL – Daughter of Daniel and Patricia Schmid … Has one younger brother, Eric … Majoring in community health sciences with emphasis in public health … Chose Nevada because the coaching staff is genuine … Also recruited by Texas Tech, Oregon, Virginia Tech, St. John’s, Boise State, Fresno State, Wyoming, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Northern Arizona, East Carolina, and Charleston Southern … Lists Stephen Curry as her sports hero … Enjoys watching movies, listening to music, working out, hanging out with friends in her spare time … Most memorable game of her career thus far is sinking nine three-pointers in a game to beat rival and the NJCAA’s No. 9 ranked Eastern Arizona.
