RENO, Nev. – After celebrating its four seniors prior to the match, the Nevada soccer team (1-17-0, 0-10-0 MW) fell to Mountain West foe Utah State (9-6-3, 4-4-2 MW) in its final home match this season. The Wolf Pack honored Aubrie Ciesynski, Katie Prosser, Nikki Mitsuyasu and Morgan Beye before the match for Senior Day.
The Aggies jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead six minutes into the match when Ashley Cardozo was able to rocket a goal past freshman goalkeeper Jamie Flynn on a free kick 20 yards out. Utah State would stretch its lead to two when Wesley Hamblin scored for the Aggies at the 16 minute mark, and they would take a 2-0 lead into the half.
Utah State would score two more times in the second half, with the final goal coming with less than four minutes to play off the foot of Bailee Hammond to give the Aggies the 4-0 victory. Flynn would finish her day with four saves for the Pack.
The Pack finished with eight shots in the match compared to Utah State's 13, with two on goal courtesy of junior Angel Meriwether and Ciesynski. Beye and Meriwether recorded two shots apiece.
Nevada's final match of the season will be this Friday down in Las Vegas against intrastate rival UNLV. The match will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network.
