PROVO, Utah – Sophomore Kostya Nesterenko was victorious in both of his singles victories in the consolation bracket on the second day of the ITA Regionals. Nesterenko also advanced with Julien Evrard to the round of 16 in the doubles bracket.
Nesterenko started off the day defeating Michiel Van Schoor of Weber State 6-1, 6-3 and then took down BYU's Ben Gajardo 7-6, 6-0 in the round of 32. Nesterenko and Evrard continued their big week winning their second doubles match of the week against Jesse Ruder-Hook and Pedro Fernandez from the University of Denver 8-2.
Freshman Jeremy Merville and junior Jonathan Aremon each won in the opening round of the consolation singles bracket as well, and ended up facing each other in the round of 32. The junior was able to get the better of the freshman, winning in straight sets by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
