Women’s track and field sophomore Nicola Ader has been named Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week after her record-breaking performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Multis last week in Azusa, California. The sophomore broke the school record in the long jump, and moved up in conference, regional and national ranks for the heptathlon.
Ader opened up the competition with a personal record time of 13.98 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. The time moves her into ninth on the Nevada all-time list, and currently sits in ninth in the Mountain West Conference.
The native of Affolterbach, Germany went on to earn personal records in the 200 and 800m races, as well as the long jump and total heptathlon score.
Ader’s long jump mark of 20’ 7.75” (6.29 m) broke the Nevada school record, and is currently second in the Mountain West. The jump is good for 12th in the west region and 23rd in the NCAA.
Her total heptathlon score of 5,590 moved her into third on the Nevada all-time list, and sits atop the Mountain West. Nationally, the score is good for 13th and in the west region it ranks eighth.
This is the fourth time in her career that Ader has earned Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
The Wolf Pack will be wrap up the regular season this weekend with the University of California’s Brutus Hamilton Invitational. The two-day meet begins Friday.
