RENO, Nev. – Nevada football standout Wyatt Demps has been named has been named the Bradley, Drendel and Jeanney Student-Athlete of the Week.
Demps, a senior wide receiver from Elk Grove, Calif., caught seven passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Nevada’s 59-14 win over San Jose State on Saturday at Mackay Stadium. He also blocked a punt on special teams, which was returned by teammate Dameon Baber for another touchdown.
With 19 career touchdowns, Demps moved into 10th place alone on Nevada’s all-time receiving touchdowns list, two behind Hall of Famer Geoff Noisy for ninth place. He has been one of the Wolf Pack’s top targets all season long and leads the team with 58 receptions. He has caught 10 touchdowns through 10 games, which ranks first in the Mountain West and is fourth nationally.
Additionally, his receiving yards total of 734 yards is in the top 45 in the nation, third in the league. He has a streak going of 22 consecutive games with a reception, dating back to last year.
