Kristen Smith has served as an Associate Director, Sports Medicine for the Wolf Pack since August 2021. She works with the volleyball and softball teams.
Prior to Nevada, Kristen received a B.S. in Athletic Training from Boise State in 2017 and a M.Ed. in Human Relations from Northern Arizona University in 2020.
While at Boise State (2012-17), Kristen served as an Athletic Training Student, working with soccer, gymnastics, rodeo among other sports. She then worked at the University of Denver (2017-18) as a Certified Athletic Training Intern with their women's soccer team. After her internship at DU, Kristen went to Northern Arizona University (2018-2020) where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with their Women's Basketball and Dance teams. Before joining the sports medicine team at Nevada, she worked with AT Direct Sports Medicine (2021) as a per diem athletic trainer providing athletic training services to youth, high school, and community sporting events in the greater Phoeniz, AZ area.
Kristen is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and Far West Athletic Trainers Association. She is certified in dry needling through Structure and Function, a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a certified Graston Technique clinician. Kristen also maintains American Heart Association CPR/AED certification.
Away from the office, Kristen enjoys hiking, skiing, and climbing, as well as anything related to Lake Tahoe. Kristen is also a self-described coffee addict.
