Katie Osterman enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Wolf Pack in 2020. Osterman has worked primarily with the goalkeepers during her time with Nevada.
Osterman continued her work with standout goalkeeper Kendal Stovall, as she has cemented herself in the Nevada record book after just two seasons, entering the top-5 in career saves (216) and minutes played (3,359). Under Osterman's coaching, Stovall led the Mountain West and was 12th in the NCAA with 117 saves last season, while saving just over 80% of her shots faced.
Â
In 2018, she helped Stovall earn All-Mountain West Newcomer honors as she made her way into the record book in just one year. Stovall played 1,750 minutes, the fourth-most in a single season by a Nevada keeper, while her 99 saves and .773 save percentage rank seventh all-time for the Pack. Stovall was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after posting a double-overtime shutout at Weber St. and helping the Pack to a 2-1 victory at Southern Utah.
Â
Prior to Nevada, Osterman was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Washington for two seasons, where she assisted with day to day operations on the field and in the office. She was promoted to recruiting coordinator in January of 2016 and helped the team finish sixth in the Pac-12 and reach the NCAA tournament. While at UW, Osterman received her master’s degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership.
Â
Osterman was a student-athlete for the West Virginia University women’s soccer team for four seasons. She was elected team co-captain in 2014, and was part of a senior class that won four regular season titles and three conference tournament titles. She was awarded the team SOCCER award, which highlights student-athletes who display sportsmanship, optimism, character, commitment, enthusiasm and respect during their time in the program. Osterman also earned Big 12 academic honors her senior year. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.
