Ela Grimwood begins her first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Wolf Pack in 2021-22.
A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Grimwood played collegiate golf at Mississippi State from January of 2017 to May of 2020. During her time as a student-athlete with the Bulldogs she competed in 18 events and posted a career-best finish of 11th place during the 2018-19 campaign. Throughout her collegiate career she earned multiple WGCA All-American Scholar honors, was a CoSIDA academic all-district selection and was placed on the SEC Academic Honor Roll several times.
Grimwood brings collegiate coaching experience as she spent the 2020-21 season as a student assistant coach with Mississippi State. During her year on staff with the Bulldogs she assisted with player development during practices and qualifying rounds, utilized Birdie Fire and player feedback to assist with practice plans and had a hand in the team's social media content.
Throughout her time at Mississippi State Grimwood also served as the Bulldog CARE Vice President, worked with the student-athlete development department in the Bulldog Experiential Learning Experience and served as an undergraduate teaching assistant in the psychology department. In June of 2020 she also worked as a learning support classroom assistant for Northcote College in New Zealand.
Grimwood earned a Bachelor's of Arts in history and a Bachelor's of Science in psychology from Mississippi State University in April of 2021 and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She will be working towards her master's in history during her time at Nevada.
