Lavaris Duncan begins his third season with Nevada women's basketball in 2025-26. Duncan came to Reno from TCU, where he served as a graduate assistant before joining the Pack ahead of the 2023-24 season.
“Lavaris is a versatile, hard-working and high character individual who brings a great skillset to our program,” head coach Amanda Levens said. “He is going to immediately impact our program in a variety of ways both on and off the court. We are excited to welcome him into the Nevada women’s basketball family.”
During his time at TCU, Duncan handled a variety of tasks that helped the Horned Frogs women’s basketball program. His duties included film breakdown, scouting, working as a scout player, practice preparation and equipment maintenance. He was also instrumental on the creative side, coming up with graphic designs and creative content for social media and flyers.
Duncan was an All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference player at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, competing from 2017-20 before transferring to Angelo State for his final season. Academically, Duncan was a member of the Dean’s List and earned the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Leadership award at Angelo State.
He received his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Angelo State in 2021 and his master’s degree from TCU in higher education and leadership in 2023.
“I am really looking forward to being the new Director of Player Development for Nevada women’s basketball,” Duncan said. “I am excited about being in a new city, building new relationships and promoting the success of Nevada women’s basketball. I would like to thank Coach Levens and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me this wonderful opportunity and I am eager to get to work.”
