Franchesca Carrera enters her second year at Nevada, seventh year overall in college athletics, in 2025-26.
She is the primary contact for volleyball, women's basketball and women's tennis.
Prior to Nevada, Carrera was the Sports Information Director at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, a role she took on in January of 2023. While at CGA, she oversaw 22 sports.
A native of Redding, California, Carrera began her career as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Simpson University in Redding in 2018, while working towards her bachelor's degree in communications.
After graduation, she spent time as a News Producer/Writer at KRCR News Channel 7 in Redding, before returning to Simpson as the SID in 2021. While at SU, she oversaw all 18 sports, and was part of the expansion when the school announced the addition of football.
During her seven years in athletics, she has also worked as a sideline reporter for football and writer for two school papers. Between both previous schools, Carrera was the lead when it came to stats, PA, releases, graphics, website management and hype videos.
Carrera earned her bachelor's in communications with an emphasis in journalism from Simpson University in 2020 and her master's in criminal justice with an emphasis in legal studies from Grand Canyon University in 2022.
