Biography

FRESHMAN (2016-17) – Began her rookie season at the start of Mountain West play after being sidelined for the first 11 games of the season due to injury recovery … Played in all but one of the 18 conference games and got her first collegiate minutes at San Jose State (12/29) where she hit two three-pointers during her debut … Totaled 56 points (3.1 ppg) on the year … Logged just over 200 minutes on the floor to average 12.3 minutes per game … Posted one game in double figures with 12 points at Boise State (2/22) on 5-of-8 shooting, including two threes … Hit 15-of-47 shots from beyond the arc (31.9 percent) and 30.3 percent (20-of-66) overall … Went 1-of-2 from the free throw line, which came during the home game against Fresno State (12/31) … Pulled down 30 rebounds (11 off, 19 def) during her freshman season (1.7 rpg) … Dished out eight assists, had a block at Boise State and had eight steals.

HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Kingman High School in Kingman, Ariz. where she was a three-point specialist and played for her father, Danny … Holds the scoring and rebounding record at Kingman and is 11th all-time in scoring in the state of Arizona … Led the state of Arizona her junior year in scoring and averaged a double-double for the year at 29.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game … Helped her team to four River Region Championships, three River Valley Tournament Championships, and advanced to the semifinals of the state championship twice … Named the Region Player of the Year … Earned an Arizona all-Academic Girls Basketball honorable mention … Averaged in double figures in scoring in all four years of high school … Averaged nearly 30 points per game during her last two years (29.7 as a junior and 27.7 as a senior) … Named first team all-county (three years), first team all-region (three years), first team all-area (three years), first team all-state (three years), first team all-division (three years), was an underclassmen all-star, named the Superior Tire Player of the Year and is a two-time Division II Section I Player of the Year, Wendy’s Heisman Scholar winner, three-time Colorado River Region MVP … Named the Max Preps Player of the Year following her senior year … Three-sport athlete in basketball, volleyball and track & field … Was a member of National Honor Society and was involved in countless amounts of community service activities … Played AAU for the Arizona Thunder and Las Vegas Elite.

PERSONAL – Daughter Danny and Melissa Gonzalez … Has two older siblings, sister Kristen and brother Danny … Her father, Danny, played basketball at Missouri Valley College … Her mother, Melissa, played one year of college basketball at Arizona State and three years at Northern Arizona … Majoring in business … Chose Nevada because the coaching staff is exceptional and everybody she met on her official visit made her feel comfortable and made her feel that she could build a second family at Nevada … Also recruited by Loras College, Feather River, King’s College, Eastern Nazarene, Warren Wilson College, Neosho CC, Arizona Christian, Air Force, Northern Arizona and Buffalo … Lists Michael Jordan as her sports hero … Most memorable game of her career was hitting her 2,000th point shot on her home court last season … A lot of her free time goes to working out, hiking, swimming and spending time with family, or volunteering for events through the local Parks and Recreation office.
