Brittany Aikens begins her third season on staff and first as the program's Director of Player Development in 2020-21. She served as a graduate assistant in her first season.
Aikens came to Reno after earning her teaching certificate from Cal State San Bernardino. She played college basketball at Fresno State from 2013-16 and saw time on the floor in over 60 games. She was part of a Mountain West Championship with the Bulldogs during her sophomore season in 2013-14, advancing to the NCAA Tournament. During her senior season, she made 18 starts and averaged a career-high 6.2 points per game. Playing 25 minutes per game, Aikens hit nearly 40 percent of her field goals and dished out over 70 assists. She began her college career at Howard Junior College before transferring to Fresno State.
While earning her teaching credentials from Cal State San Bernardino, Aikens played basketball for SoCal Splash in 2017, a semi-professional team in the Los Angeles area. The SoCal Splash were part of the women's drew league and the Women's Blue Chip League (WBCBL). During her time with the SoCal Splash, Aikens helped lead the team to a conference and regional championship, as well as an appearance in the national tournament.
Aikens was born in Las Vegas but grew up outside of San Antonio, Texas.
