Ashley Elliott begins her seventh season on staff and sixth as an assistant coach with the Wolf Pack in 2025-26. She served as the team's Director of Player Development in her first season.
In her current role, Elliott plays an instrumental part in recruiting, scouting and player development.Â
Guards Audrey Roden and Izzy Sullivan both earned All-Mountain West honors with Elliott's guidance, with Sullivan also matching the single season program 3-pointers record by a Nevada freshman. Having a Hall of Fame career as a player at Wyoming, Elliott was named to the Mountain West's 25th Anniversary Team in 2024.Â
With the help of Elliott, Alyssa Jimenez posted six double-doubles en route to All-Mountain West Honorable Mention honors during the 2022-23 season. Elliott also helped four Nevada players pass the 500 career point mark during the season.Â
During the 2021-22 season, Elliott played a key role that allowed the Pack to obtain the second-most wins in program history with 20. After a third place finish in the Mountain West, Nevada received an invitation to the Women's Basketball Invitational. Elliott guided Da'ja Hamilton, Jimenez and Roden to All-Mountain West honors. The year also saw Nevada shoot 80.9 percent from the free throw line, ranking fourth in the nation and being the 11th-best free throw percentage in NCAA Division I women's basketball history. Elliott also helped senior guard Kylie Jimenez record a 3.19 assist to turnover ratio that ranked second in the country.Â
It was a year of significant growth for the program in 2020-21, despite a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Elliott helped guide the Wolf Pack to a 13-9 overall record and a 9-7 mark in Mountain West play. Nevada, which was picked 10th in the preseason head coaches poll, finished fifth in the conference standings to earn a first round bye in the 2021 MW Championship, its first bye in the conference tournament since the 2013-14 season where it held the No. 3 seed. Nevada’s 13-9 overall record also marked the program’s first winning record since 2017-18 when it went 19-17 overall. The Pack closed the regular season winning eight of its last 10 games, including a stretch of five consecutive wins to end the regular season.
Elliott brought many years of collegiate basketball experience with her to Reno, with Arizona State being her most recent stop. Elliott was on staff at ASU from 2012-16, serving in an operations role alongside Levens, who was an associate head coach at the time. She held the position of assistant director of operations for three seasons before being promoted to director of operations for the 2015-16 campaign. During her time with the Sun Devils, Elliott managed the team budget, directed team travel, and assisted with scouting and recruiting efforts, among other tasks.
Elliott also brings coaching experience with her to the Wolf Pack as she previously served as an assistant coach at Idaho State and Weber State. While only at Idaho State for the 2011-12 season, the Bengals posted a 24-win season and captured both the regular season and conference tournament championships in the Big Sky, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. Leading the guard development, Elliott coached three members of that team to All-Big Sky honors.
Prior to Idaho State, Elliott spent two seasons from 2009-11 as an assistant coach at Weber State. With the Wildcats she served as the coordinator for team travel, film and video as well as social media. Her coaching duties included assisting in guard development and directing team and individual summer camps.
Elliott got her start in coaching at Arizona State where she served her first tenure with the Sun Devils as a graduate assistant from 2007-09. She assisted the team in all day-to-day operations and helped ASU reach the Elite Eight in 2009.
As a player, Elliott had a Hall of Fame level collegiate career at Wyoming in the early 2000s where she earned a Kodak/WBCA All-American honorable mention in 2005. She was a two-time First Team All-Mountain West selection and ranks in the top 10 at Wyoming in career three-point field goals made, assists, free throws made and steals. She was inducted into the Wyoming Hall of Fame in 2015. After her stint in college basketball, Elliott played professionally overseas for two seasons with the Uni-Neuchatel Club of Switzerland.
Elliott earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming in 2005 and her master’s degree in higher and post-secondary education from Arizona State University in 2009.
