Kaleigh Mitchell came to Nevada in April of 2014 from the University of Central Florida to join the academic staff. Overseeing more than 40 student-athletes, Mitchell covers, men’s and women’s basketball, helping new student-athletes enroll and current student-athletes graduate on time with success in the classroom.Â
   Additionally, Mitchell coordinates the student-athlete development program and teaches the ACE 110, First Year Experience for Freshman Student-Athletes class. Previously, Mitchell worked as an assistant advisor and an assistant learning specialist at the University of Central Florida.
   Mitchell earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Virginia Tech in 2011. She then was hired as a graduate assistant at Florida State, where she graduated in 2013 with a master’s in sport management. While attending Virginia Tech, she was a member of the swim team, serving as a captain for a year.
   She resides in Reno with her husband Ryan.
