Finished the USF Invitational at -9 (71-66-67=204) to clear the field by four strokes for the title (Sept. 12-13) ... Came in T-14 at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, finishing +1 (70-73-68=211) with two rounds even-par or better (Oct. 3-4) ... Came in at -2 (69-74-71=214) at the Wolf Pack Classic (Oct. 10-11) … Finished -2 at the John A. Earned the first victory of his career in The Goodwin at Stanford Golf Course following a walk-off birdie on 18 to clinch the tournament... Posted rounds of 65-67-65 (197) for his lowest tournament score of the season... The two 65s marked the lowest round of his career and tied for the fourth-lowest single round in program history... Posted a 71.67 scoring average, which is sixth in program history... Shot 20 par or better rounds over 36.0 total rounds this season... Tied for the 8th-most birdies in program history (125) during a single season... Made seven eagles which is tied for fourth in program history.Â
JUNIOR (2020-21) -- Played in five tournaments in his second season with the Wolf Pack, including the last four events of the season … Averaged 72.47 strokes per round in his 15 rounds played … Played the year at 7-over par and totaled 48 birdies, four eagles and 166 pars … Recorded a season-best finish of a tie for eighth place at the Mountain West Championship where he finished at 5-under par after firing rounds of 75-71-65 … His round of 65 at the MW Championship was a career-low and was the second lowest round on the team during the season … Posted eight of his 15 rounds at par or better … Letter winner.
SOPHOMORE (2019-20 - Season shortened due to COVID-19) -- Competed in five of the Wolf Pack’s seven events during his first year with Nevada … Compiled a scoring average of 73.00 for the year … Totaled 39 birdies and 118 pars … Played the year at 13-over par … Posted a season-best finish of a tie for fifth at the Olympic College Invitational where he was 2-over par after rounds of 71 and 75 … Shot a season-low round of 66 at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational … Posted two top 10 finishes … Had five of his 13 rounds at par or better … Letter winner.
PRIOR TO NEVADA --Â Transfer from Texas A&M where he played one season for the Aggies.
HIGH SCHOOL -- Graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Langton, Ontario where he was a three-sport athlete in golf, tennis and basketball … 2016 & 2017 member of the Canadian National Development Team (Top five junior players in the country) … Has traveled to events in Argentina, Guatemala, USA and England as part of Team Canada … 2016 Ontario Junior Boys Champion … Runner-up at the 2016 AJGA Canadian Championship … Third place at 2016 Canadian Junior Boys Championship … 2017 medalist at the 2017 AJGA New Era Junior Championship … 17th place at 2017 South American Amateur Championship … 27th place at 2017 Canadian Amateur Championship … Eighth place at 2017 Canadian Junior Championship.
PERSONAL -- Son of Robin and Tony Callens … Has one younger brother, Maddox … Undecided on a major but would like to become a professional golfer after college … Chose Nevada because he loves desert golf, there are three other Canadians on the team and he felt like he could excel at Nevada … Also recruited by North Carolina State, Florida Gulf Coast and Michigan State … Lists Tiger Woods as his sports hero … The most memorable moment of his pre-Nevada career was the first AJGA event he played in and won … Enjoys playing other sports such as basketball, hockey and tennis in his free time.
