NEVADA
SENIOR (2017-18) – Competed in eight of Nevada’s 11 events in his final season … Compiled a scoring average of 74.25 in his 24 rounds played … Recorded 87 birdies on the year and two eagles, both of which came at the Saint Mary’s Invitational … Shot his season-low round of 70 multiple times … Six of his 24 rounds were played at par or better … Played the year at 60-over par … Notched his best finish of the year, a tie for 21st, at the Jackrabbit Invitational … Made 15 birdies at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, a season-high … Finished three different events at 2-over par, which was a season-best tournament score to par … Letter winner.
JUNIOR (2016-17) – Played in all 11 events during his first full season with the Wolf Pack and finished with a season scoring average of 73.6 … Set season bests at the Jackrabbit Invitational which included a team-low round of 64, 21 birdies, a tournament score to par finish of 12-under and a second place showing … His play at the Jackrabbit Invitational led to Nevada capturing the team title … Also earned a runner-up individual finish at the Ram Masters Invitational … Finished the year at 83-over par through his 11 events … Collected 108 birdies on the year, which ranked second on the team, three eagles and 327 pars … 12 of his 33 rounds played were rounds of 72 or better … Posted three top 15 finishes on the year … Letter winner.
PRIOR TO NEVADA – Transfer from Holy Cross College in Indiana where he played two seasons of golf … As a sophomore he averaged 72.1 for the season, which ranked him in the top five in the NAIA, and shot a season-low round of 65 twice … Was second on the team in birdies last year … Over the last two years he collected 15 top five finishes, including nine in a single year … Also earned six runner-up finishes and one win … Was named all-conference.
HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Smithers Secondary School in British Columbia where he was a three-sport athlete in golf, basketball and volleyball … Won seven events in golf during his high school career … Was his school’s MVP four times in golf, four times in volleyball and twice in basketball … Was involved in theater, leadership and music.
PERSONAL – Son of Dana and Shannon Gorbahn … Has two older brothers, Kai and Taaron and a younger sister Jadyn … Plans to major in business management … Chose Nevada because he immediately fell in love with the campus and the staff … Also recruited by BYU, Weber State, Arizona, Utah Valley and San Diego … Lists Mike Weir as his sports hero … The most memorable moment of his career was playing for Team Canada in the North America Cup, beating the U.S. for the first time in seven years … Is a movie fanatic and a theater actor and helps with junior golf clinics in his spare time.
