Graduate assistant Robert Edwards is in his second season working with the University of Nevada basketball team. Edwards spent four seasons working with the Nebraska men’s basketball as a team manager, the final year as the Cornhuskers head student manager.
Last season he a was a member of the Wolf Pack staff that helped guide Nevada to a second consecutive Mountain West outright title, just the second school in conference history to accomplish the feat. The Pack made a second consecutive NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet 16 for the second time in school history. The team went 29-8 and 15-3 in MW play. The 29 wins tied the school record for victories.
Edwards assisted the Huskers coaching staff with player recruitment, on-court activities and team logistics along with helping produce scouting reports. In his final year at Nebraska he assisted the video coordinator with opponent scouting.
His coaching background includes working with the Cornhusker Shooting Stars AAU basketball program and Victory Rock Prep School and Florida Sons AAU basketball program.
From Overland, Park, Kan. Edwards received a bachelor’s degree in communications studies with a minor in coaching from Nebraska in 2016. He is pursuing a degree in justice management at Nevada.
