The 2017-18 season will be the second for Marcus Whitt as a graduate assistant with the University of Nevada men’s basketball program.
Whitt was member fo the Pack’s staff that helped Nevada capture the Mountain West regular season and tournament titles in his first season with the Wolf Pack. Nevada advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in a decade and finished the year with a 28-7 record. The 28 wins tied for the second most in school history.
Whitt joined the staff after playing four seasons at Columbia College, a NAIA school located in Columbia, Mo. He played for Hall of Fame coach Bob Burchard. In his four seasons, the Cougars posted a 122-17 record. As a freshman, the Cougars posted a 32-0 regular season mark and were ranked No. 1 for the first time in school history. He is one of a select few who won 100 games while playing at Columbia College.
Originally from St. Louis, Mo. he was a four-year letter winner in basketball and track at Hickman High School. Whitt received his
degree from Columbia College in business administration in 2016.
