SOPHOMORE (2016) – Saw time in one game as a sophomore, the win over Buffalo (9/17).

PRIOR TO NEVADA - Attended Laney College (Oakland, Calif.) in 2015.

HIGH SCHOOL - Graduated from Granada High School in Livermore, Calif., in the spring of 2014 … Was a two-year letter winner (2013-14) on the football team.

PERSONAL - Born Reece Andrew Backman … Son of Raymond Backman and Kristen Backman … Has one sister and two step-siblings … Majoring in Human Development and Family Studies at Nevada … Chose to attend Nevada because he enjoys the scenery and outdoors and also because he has been a fan of the football team … Also received recruiting interest from New Mexico, Utah State and Missouri.
