NEVADA
SENIOR (2016) – Played in six of Nevada’s 12 games as he fought through an injury plagued senior season … Made his season debut during the season opening win over Cal Poly (9/2) … Recorded five tackles on the year, including three assisted stops in the Cal Poly game … Also picked up tackles at San Jose State (10/15) and against Wyoming (10/22).

JUNIOR (2015) - Played in all 13 games as a back-up cornerback and key contributor on special teams … Credited with 15 tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery … Posted a season-high with seven tackles and one pass breakup in a season-opening win over UC Davis … Also posted four tackles against Pac-12 foe Arizona … Recovered a fumble at Utah State … Saw action in Nevada’s victory in the 2015 Arizona Bowl … Letter winner.

SOPHOMORE (2014) - Played in all 13 games as Nevada’s primary nickel back or linebacker … Earned his first career start against UNLV followed by a start in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl against Louisiana … Credited with 17 tackles, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one tackle for loss on the season … Posted the top performance of his career in Nevada’s comeback victory at BYU with a career-high eight tackles, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and two pass breakups … Forced fumbles against Boise State and BYU.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013) - Played in 10 games with no starts … Played extensively on special teams and also saw time at cornerback … Credited with four tackles on the year … Picked up a fumbled punt return and returned it 22 yards to midfield to set up Nevada’s game-winning drive against Air Force.

FRESHMAN (2012) - Joined the team as a true freshman and redshirted his first season at Nevada.

HIGH SCHOOL - A graduate of Canoga Park (Calif.) High School … Won eight varsity letters, including four in football and four in track and field … Earned first-team all-league honors as a senior and was the team’s special teams player of the year and the receiver of the year … Was active in the Black Student Union and United Colors, an organization that allowed him to experience different perspectives from different races and improved his speaking and listening skills.

PERSONAL - Born Randy Onyekwelu Uzoma on March 26, 1994 … Son of Lovender and Ken Uzoma … Has a brother, Kenny, and a sister, Jenny … Majoring in biology and wants to be an orthopedic or plastic surgeon … Had offers from Oregon, UCLA and San Diego State but chose Nevada because of the opportunity and he loves the Northern Nevada community … Sports heroes are Usain Bolt, Calvin Johnson and Kobe Bryant … Enjoys running, drawing, acting and spending time with friends in his free time.
