Coaching Experience
In his third season at Nevada, Scott Baumgartner coaches the Wolf Pack[apos]s corps of wide receivers and the special teams. Last year, he helped junior wide receiver Caleb Spencer and senior punter Justin Bergendahl earn first-team All-WAC honors after helping coach Nevada[apos]s quarterbacks in 2004. Prior to arriving in Reno, Baumgartner, who has 18 years of college coaching experience, spent the previous eight years coaching receivers, quarterbacks and special teams at Central Missouri State. Baumgartner ran the same offensive system in 2003 with Chris Klenakis at Central Missouri that Chris Ault ran when he coached at Nevada earlier. A noted West Coast recruiter, Baumgartner hails from California and has many ties to high school and junior college coaches throughout the Golden State from his time as an assistant coach at West Valley College in Saratoga, Calif., and as a player at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif. He coached four years at West Valley College (1992-95), and spent four seasons at his alma mater, Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. (1988-91). Playing Experience
Baumgartner played wide receiver at Cerritos College for two years and then transferred to Pacific University, where he earned his bachelor[apos]s degree. He was a two-time all-conference selection and served as a team captain at Pacific. Personal
Baumgartner graduated from Pacific in 1989 and earned his master[apos]s degree in athletic administration at Central Missouri in 2003. He is married to his wife, Lori, and has a stepdaughter, McKenzie, and a stepson, Tyler.
