With 17 years of experience at multiple levels of college football, Doug Lichtenberger enters his first season at Nevada as the Wolf Pack’s Director of Football and Recruiting Operations. Lichtenberger served as a graduate assistant at Nevada in 2000, which helped launch his coaching and administrative career. 

As Nevada’s Director of Football and Recruiting Operations, Lichtenberger will oversee and spearhead all aspects of the recruiting process for Nevada. He will also be heavily involved in all off-field aspects surrounding the program.

A native of San Diego, Lichtenberger arrives at Nevada following a nine-year coaching career at Tulane, where he served multiple roles for the Green Wave. He most recently served as a special teams coordinator and linebackers coach last season. During his stint with Tulane, Lichtenberger also saw position coaching experience with the offensive line and tight ends while also serving as a recruiting coordinator. From 2012-14, Lichtenberger was an assistant athletic director at Tulane, overseeing the football program.

Prior to Tulane, Lichtenberger served as an administrative assistant at Auburn. Lichtenberger served as an offensive line coach at UC Davis in 2005, a tackles and tight ends coach at Ohio in 2004 and as an offensive coordinator at Carleton College from 2001-03. Lichtenberger’s career began as a graduate assistant at Idaho in 1999 and at Nevada in 2000.

Lichtenberger was a four-year letter winner as an offensive lineman at Cal Poly from 1993-97. He received his bachelor’s degree in liberal studies there in 1998. Lichtenberger also received a Master’s degree in recreation at Idaho in 2000.
