Brad Rogers enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Nevada. A former fullback at Iowa, Rogers arrives at Iowa from St. Lawrence University.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Rogers’ first coaching job after his playing days was at St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y., as a graduate assistant. Rogers served as a running backs coach and special teams assistant with the Saints during the 2014 season. Rogers helped the Saints to an 8-2 record last season, their first eight-win season since 1982.
As a 5-foot-10 fullback, Rogers played in 27 games and earned three letters with the Hawkeyes from 2009-12. Rogers helped Iowa play in two Insight Bowls before retiring due to medical concerns with one year of eligibility remaining.
After redshirting in his first year on campus, Rogers played in 11 games with one start in 2010. As a sophomore, Rodgers played in nine games while starting in seven in 2011. Rogers played in eight games with four starts as a junior in 2012. Rogers was a member of Iowa’s leadership group for three seasons.
Rogers graduated from Iowa in 2013 with a bachelor’s in sport and recreation business before receiving a master’s the following year in educational leadership from St. Lawrence.
