Anthony Arceneaux begins his second season at Nevada as Wide Receivers Coach in 2023.
Last season, Arceneaux oversaw a wide receiver corps full of players in their first year at Nevada, and guided the group to a combined total of 142 receptions for 1,632 yards and six touchdowns. The group was led by BJ Casteel, who, in his lone season with the Wolf Pack, was named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention agfter leading the team in catches (48), receiving yards (581), and touchdown catches (four).
Two more transfers made a mark in their first seasons at Nevada. Dalevon Campbell caught 39 balls for 467 yards and a touchdown, while Spencer Curtis also hauled in a score among his 18 catches for 245 yards. Returner Jamaal Bell finished the season with 27 catches for 281 yards.
The group showed its speed threat, as well, with Casteel (75 yards) and Campbell (73) each hauling in scoring grabs of over 70 yards.
Arceneaux joined the Nevada staff in Jan. 2022 from UC Davis. In 2021, Arceneaux served as the Aggies' Wide Receivers Coach, helping the team to an 8-4 record and earning a berth into the FCS playoffs.
Prior to joining the Aggies, Arceneaux spent six years with Southern Utah, including five as a full-time assistant coach, overseeing special teams, inside receivers, and tight ends. Under his tutelage in the receiving corps was Lance Lawson, who ranked 13th among FCS leaders with 78 receivers in 2019. Meanwhile, Judd Cockett garnered All-Big Sky third-team honors as a receiver and return specialist.
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Arceneaux began his coaching career at his high school alma mater of Saint Louis High School, then joined Southern Utah as a volunteer assistant in 2014. He followed that with two years coaching receivers at Western New Mexico (2014) and Chaffey College (2015) before making his return to Cedar City. Arceneaux also completed a master's degree in human performance and sport from New Mexico Highlands in 2016.
Among his coaching highlights was earning NFL Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowships with the Los Angeles Chargers (2018 and 2020) and Minnesota Vikings (2019). He also was selected to participate in the NFL QB Summit in 2020. Arceneaux owns a pro football resume of his own, playing for the Las Vegas Gladiators of the Arena Football League plus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. He lettered two years at Utah, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Darnell, then returned to his home state to complete his bachelor's degree at Chaminade.
Arceneaux joins the Nevada football family along with his wife Nichole and their three children: Tevaiana, A.J. and Darnell.
