Dominic Kelley named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

RENO, Nev. - Nevada running back Dominic Kelley's standout performance in Saturday night's 49-14 win over Western Kentucky has earned him the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honor, the conference announced Monday.

Kelley set the tone on the game's second play from scrimmage, taking a handoff and breaking free for a 72-yard touchdown run, the Wolf Pack's longest run from scrimmage since 2015. It only took him two carries to eclipse the 100-yard mark as he went 42 yards to open Nevada's second drive of the contest.

He finished the contest with 152 yards on just 11 carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns and averaging over 13 yards per attempt. Kelley added a one-yard plunge in the fourth quarter to give Nevada a 42-7 advantage.

His 152 rushing yards were also the most by a Wolf Pack player since Toa Taua ran for 160 yards against San José State in 2019. Kelley led the way for Nevada's rushing attack Saturday as it piled up 323 yards at a clip of 7.7 yards per carry.

The Wolf Pack (1-0) looks to make it two in a row to open the campaign this Saturday, hosting defending FCS national champion Montana State at 7:30 p.m. at Mackay Stadium. Tickets are available HERE.
