RENO, Nev. - The 57th annual Governor's Dinner will take place Wednesday, July 22 at 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Governor's Mansion in Carson City.
College Football Hall of Famer and multiple-time national championship-winning head coach Urban Meyer will headline Northern Nevada's favorite summer social event.

The Governor's Dinner is Nevada Athletics' premier annual fundraising event, bringing together the Wolf Pack community in support of our student-athletes. Support generated through the evening provides critical resources to enhance the student-athlete experience, foster competitive excellence, and fuel long-term program success. Collectively, this support creates meaningful opportunities for growth in the classroom, in competition, and in life – ensuring Nevada's student-athletes are equipped to succeed today and for years to come.
"We are thrilled to welcome Urban Meyer as our headline speaker at this year's Governor's Dinner. As one of the most successful college football coaches of all-time and an architect of multiple championship programs, Coach Meyer no doubt brings a message that matches the prestige of our annual event," said Nevada Director of Athletics
Stephanie Rempe. "We look forward to an exciting evening with Coach Meyer and all of our special guests, and hosting what will be a very memorable event."
A three-time national championship-winning head coach and 2025 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame, Meyer is widely viewed as one of the most successful and influential coaches in the game's history. Over four head-coaching stops (Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, Ohio State) Meyer won 85.4 percent of his games (187-32), a figure which ranks third all-time in college football history. He captured national championships at Florida (2006, 2008) and Ohio State (2014), and seven conference titles encompassing three different conferences (Mountain West, SEC, Big Ten).
"There are few figures in the history of college football quite like Coach Urban Meyer. Throughout a distinguished and innovative coaching career, Coach Meyer set a standard of championship level excellence that changed how the modern college game is played," said University President Brian Sandoval '86. "He continues to be one of the most influential voices in the sport as a broadcaster and podcaster. We are thrilled to have Coach Meyer serve as the keynote speaker for this year's Governor's Dinner, and on a personal note, I am excited to welcome a friend and fellow Buckeye to the great state of Nevada."
Meyer's national championships with Florida and Ohio State made him, and he remains, the only head coach in college football's modern era to win national titles in two different conferences, and one of just two head coaches to win a national championship at two different schools. His teams won at least 20-straight games four different times, another achievement which sets him apart from his peers in major college football history.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to join Governor Lombardo, President Sandoval, and Wolf Pack Nation at the 57th Annual Governor's Dinner," said Meyer. "I'm bullish on the future of the Nevada program, and I'm looking forward to sharing a special evening together supporting the Wolf Pack!"
Meyer's impact goes beyond the gridiron. Among his civic and philanthropic contributions are he and his wife establishing the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center, and serving on the boards of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Folds of Honor, and Veterans Golfers Association.
