Las Vegas, Nev. - Eller Media Stadium
LAS VEGAS — Nevada's (36-18, 16-9 MW) late push wasn't enough to overcome an early deficit on Saturday afternoon, as the Wolf Pack dropped the series finale to UNLV (31-20, 18-7), 7–4, at Eller Media Stadium.
The Rebels struck quickly with a pair of runs in the first, capitalizing on a two‑run homer to take a 2–0 lead. Nevada answered in the second when Hannah DiGenova launched her first of two home runs on the day, cutting the deficit in half.
The Pack continued to build momentum in the third. After a single from
Karolyn Glover and a fielder's choice,
Matlyn Leetch reached on an infield single, setting up
Haylee Engelbrecht's two‑run double down the left‑field line, bringing the Pack within one. DiGenova struck again in the fourth, sending a solo shot over the left‑field wall tying the game at 4–4.
The Rebels responded with the game's decisive swing in the bottom of the fifth. The Rebels opened the inning with back‑to‑back hits before a sacrifice fly tied the game. A fielding error extended the frame, and a two‑run double pushed UNLV back in front, 7–4.
Nevada threatened in the seventh, but the Pack couldn't bring runs home as UNLV closed out the win.
In the circle,
Ainsley Berlingeri pitched 1.2 innings giving up four runs before handing the ball over to
Sofie Seese. Seese pitched 2.2 innings and gave up 3 runs to the Rebels.
Hailey McLean finished out the game for the Wolf Pack.
Nevada now turns its attention to the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championships May 6-9 in Reno. The Wolf Pack are coming into the tournament in the No. 3 seed and wil face No. 6 Colorado State on Wednesday, May 6 at 6 p.m.
