RENO, Nev. - Nevada (36–15, 16–6 MW) came up just short in its series finale on Sunday afternoon, falling 5–4 to Fresno State (21–22, 10–12 MW) at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park.

Fresno State broke through with a four‑run third inning to take a 4–0 lead. Nevada responded immediately in the bottom half, capitalizing on two walks and timely hitting to plate three runs. Katie Wetteland delivered an RBI single, while Rylie Haith and Lexi O'Gorman each drove in runs with two outs to pull the Pack within 4–3.

Nevada continued to apply pressure in the fourth, tying the game at 4–4 when Wetteland punched a two‑out RBI single into left. The Pack threatened again in the fifth, but Fresno State turned its second double play of the afternoon to end the inning and keep the game even.

The Bulldogs reclaimed the lead in the seventh on a two‑out RBI single from Jayda Crosby. Nevada brought the tying run aboard in the bottom half, but Fresno State closed the door to secure the 5–4 final.

Hailey McLean and Tess Bumiller combined in the circle, with Bumiller working 4.2 innings of relief and striking out three. Fresno State's Alyssa Loza earned the win with two scoreless innings to close the game.

Nevada returns to action next week, heading to UNLV for the Silver Series to close out the Mountain West regular season.
