Nevada takes the win over Northern Colorado

April 20, 2026
Greeley, Colo. – Gloria Rodriguez Field

GREELEY, Colo. – Nevada (34-14, 14-5 MW) started its week with a well‑rounded 6–1 win on Monday afternoon against Northern Colorado ( 20-25, 6-6 Big Sky), using timely offense and a complete‑game from Ainsley Berlingeri to control the matchup from start to finish.

The Wolf Pack struck first in the second inning when Hannah Di Genova doubled to right‑center and later came home on a groundout by Matlyn Leetch. One inning later, Haylee Engelbrecht delivered the biggest swing of the day, a three‑run homer to center that scored Katie Wetteland and Anna Braukus and pushed the Pack ahead 4–0.

Northern Colorado answered with an RBI double in the bottom of the third, but Nevada quickly answered back in the fifth. Madison Clark drove a triple to left‑center to score Braukus, then came home on a groundout from Wetteland to extend the lead to 6–1. Clark finished with a triple, RBI, and run scored, while Di Genova added a two‑hit day including a double as part of Nevada's eight‑hit outing.

Berlingeri anchored the win with a composed effort, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five. Nevada backed her with clean defense, committing no errors and stranding six Northern Colorado runners to close out the victory.

Nevada now turns its attention to a three-game series against Fresno State at Christina M. Hixson from April 24-26. The weekend will be highlighted with Alumni Day on Saturday and Senior Day on Sunday to honor Nevada's seven seniors.
