Fort Collins, Colo. - Ram Field

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Nevada (33-14, 14-5 MW) closed out its road series at Colorado State (20-24, 8-11 MW) on Sunday afternoon, using a pair of explosive innings to power past the Rams 11–3 and secure both the series sweep and a spot in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship. The Wolf Pack locked themselves into the postseason with two weeks remaining in conference action.

Colorado State struck early with three runs in the first, but the Pack quickly settled in behind dominant relief pitching and a relentless offensive response. Nevada's breakthrough came in the fourth, when the Pack erupted for six runs to flip the game.

Katie Wetteland tied the score with a two‑run home run, her second of the weekend, before Haylee Engelbrecht launched a three‑run shot to left to give Nevada its first lead of the afternoon. Madison Clark added an RBI single to cap the inning.

Nevada put the contest out of reach with another five‑run surge in the sixth. Lexi O'Gorman delivered a two‑RBI single, while Engelbrecht, Wetteland, and Hannah Di Genova each added run‑scoring swings to extend the lead to 11–3. Rylie Haith paced the offense with a three‑hit performance, while Engelbrecht and Wetteland each finished with two hits and combined for five RBIs.

After Talia Tretton exited in the opening frame, Hailey McLean took over and was outstanding, throwing 5.2 shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out three. McLean faced 21 batters and retired 10 of the final 12 she saw, completely shutting down the Rams' offense to earn her eighth win of the season. Tess Bumiller closed out the sixth inning to keep the Wolf Pack in the lead.

With the win, Nevada completed its second straight Mountain West sweep and officially clinched a spot in the conference tournament. The Pack will travel to Greeley, Colorado for a match up against Northern Colorado tomorrow at 1 p.m. PT.
