Women's Tennis

Nevada gets road win over SJSU

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Nevada Women's Tennis faced San José State in its second to last regular season match, getting the road win over the Spartans, 4-1. 

The Pack quickly had the advantage after winning the doubles point. The duo of Amahée Charrier and Petra Janigova defeated Tara Mihaljevic and Duru Durgun, 6-1, for the first doubles match win. The Spartans then tied it up at one a piece as Kennedy Robinson and Kariman Buqai fell to Cristina Losada and Katarina Brajovic, 6-3. 

Marlene Foerster and Silvia-Maria Costache had the deciding match as they beat Emma Fantousis and Soledad Capilla, 6-4.

Into singles play, Foerster put the Pack up by two as she won her match over Fantousis, 6-2, 6-1. 

San José State cut the lead in half after Janigova fell to Camila Celis, 6-4, 6-3.

Nevada took the next two matches as Charrier won in three sets over Durgun, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Robinson followed it up to clinch the match by defeating Mihaljevic, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1.

The Pack will have one more regular season match before the conference tournament next week. Nevada will play at UNLV on Friday at 10 a.m.
