RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada's 2026 home opener at McArthur Tennis Center was spoiled Saturday as Sacramento State came back in singles for a 4-3 win.
The Hornets (9-4) took the doubles point before Nevada (4-5) bounced back with singles wins at Nos. 1 and 5 from Amahée Charrier and
Kennedy Robinson, respectively, to take a 2-1 lead.
Silvia-Maria Costache took Nevada's third singles victory, a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win, but Sacramento State got a comeback win at No. 2 as Lou Baudouin beat
Marlene Foerster, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.
The Hornets got straight-sets wins at Nos. 3 and 6 to clinch the match.
Nevada begins Mountain West play next Friday, March 13, visiting Air Force before closing the weekend two days later at New Mexico.
