EUGENE, Oregon – Nevada Softball closed out the second day of the Jane Sanders Classic 2-0 with wins over Oregon State and No. 18/18 Oregon.
The 8-5 victory over the Ducks marks Nevada's first Top-25 win since defeating No. 2 Washington in 2021.
Nevada (16-8) concludes play at the Jane Sanders Classic Sunday with a rematch with Oregon at 12:30 p.m.

Nevada started the day off strong when
Katie Wetteland hit a triple driving in two runs to put the Pack up 2-1. Immediately after,
Hannah Di Genova hit a triple to score Wetteland and extend Nevada's lead. Nevada upped its lead when
Talia Tretton hit an RBI double followed by
Matlyn Leetch's RBI single to end the first inning up 5-1.
The bottom of the third is where Nevada kept its momentum going. Leetch scored to push the lead to 6-2.
Madison Clark then hit an RBI single to plate Leetch and make it 7-2. The game was highlighted by Leetch's three‑run inside‑the‑park home run, which secured the run‑rule victory for Nevada.
Nevada 8, No. 18/18 Oregon 5
Nevada started the afternoon contest with two runs in the bottom of the first to take a quick lead.
The top of the second is where the Ducks cut the deficit in half. But Wetteland answered with a three-run home run to extend the Pack's lead in the top of the third. Oregon then tied the game up at 5-5 with four runs in the bottom of the third.
Bailie Clark broke the tie with her first home run of the season in the top of the fourth to put Nevada back in the lead, 6-5.
Nevada continued the push in the fourth, as
Haylee Engelbrecht and
Karolyn Glover each drew a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to 8-5 in the top of the fourth.
Tretton went 4.1 innings and struck out three to get the win and improve to 5-2.
Tess Bumiller entered the circle with one out in the fifth and limited the Ducks to just two hits over the final 2.2 scoreless innings to pick up the save.
