RENO, Nev. – Nevada Softball (17-10, MW 1-1) claimed its first win of conference play with a 8-0 run-rule victory over Boise State (13-16, MW 1-1).
Nevada took an early lead in the bottom of the second that pushed the Packs momentum.
Lexi O'Gorman hit a single advancing
Hannah Di Genova home putting Nevada up 1-0. In the bottom of the fourth is where
Haylee Engelbrecht hit a two RBI home run deep to left field extending the Packs lead to 3-0.
The Pack did not let up, scoring its next 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Anna Braukus hit her first home run of the season to push the lead to 4-0. O'Gorman hit a walk off grand slam for the Pack securing the win over the Broncos with a run-rule victory.
Tess Bumiller was composed in the circle holding Boise to just four hits, zero runs and tallying six strikeouts.
Nevada and Boise will battle in the last game of the series tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. at Christina M. Hixson Park to wrap up the first weekend of conference play.
