HOUSTON, Texas – Nevada turned in a strong third day at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships, highlighted by
Scarlett Ferris's conference title.
Ferris earned her fourth‑career Mountain West medal and her third consecutive gold in the 100-yard backstroke. Her winning time of 51.07 set a new Mountain West Championships meet record and earned her automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
The finals session brought more standout results for the Pack. Ferris secured her third straight Mountain West title in the 100-yard backstroke, while
Moji Pholjamjumrus earned her second medal of the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
Nevada added another podium finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, placing third in 7:13.44. The relay featured Pholjamjumrus, Sara Mihalič,
Sally Vagg, and Huska Batbayar.
The Team Dive is where Nevada divers placed sixth with a score of 275.60 to end the night.
The Pack opened the morning with the 100-yard breaststroke, where Mihalič advanced to the B-Final and
Henley Kerr moved on to the C-Final. Momentum continued in the 200-yard butterfly as Pholjamjumrus qualified for the championship final, with Vagg advancing to the B-Final and
Audrey Bull moving into the C-Final.
Nevada carried that energy into the 100-yard backstroke, where Ferris advanced to the championship final, and
Molly Von Seggern qualified for the B-Final.
After the third night of the four-day meet, Nevada remains in fourth place with 699.5 points.
The Pack returns to the pool tomorrow as the Mountain West Championships continue in Houston. Prelims begin at 8:30 a.m. PT, followed by the evening finals session at 4 p.m. PT.
