Nevada Softball battles against No.15/16 Arizona

No.15/16 Arizona 9, Nevada 7
Tuesday, February 17, 2026
Tucson, Arizona – Hillenbrand Stadium

TUCSON, Ariz. — Nevada Softball delivered one of its strongest offensive performances of the season on Tuesday night, pushing No. 15/16 Arizona in a competitive 9–7 battle at Hillenbrand Stadium. The Wolf Pack matched the Wildcats with ten hits and produced multiple scoring surges, showing resilience throughout a back‑and‑forth contest.

Arizona opened with two runs in the first inning and added another in the second, but Nevada quickly countered, scoring once in the second before erupting for three runs in the third to briefly take the lead. Timely hitting fueled the rally, including run‑producing swings from Madison Clark and Hannah Di Genova as the Pack strung together quality at‑bats.

Nevada continued to apply pressure in the sixth inning, taking a 7-5 lead with another three‑run burst. The highlight of the frame came from catcher Karolyn Glover, who launched a solo home run to left with one out, her third of the season. Talia Tretton added a double earlier in the game while Anna Braukus contributed a double of her own and later added a stolen base. Despite Nevada's surge, Arizona responded with four runs in the bottom half of the sixth to regain control and ultimately hold off the Pack's final push.

The Wolf Pack saw strong performances throughout the lineup. Lexi O'Gorman recorded a two‑hit night and scored a run, while Rylie Haith added two hits and an RBI. Glover finished with two RBIs to accompany her home run, and Tretton posted a multi‑hit outing with an RBI and a double. Clark added an RBI single and steady play in the middle infield, helping Nevada capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout the night.

Nevada used three pitchers in the contest. Ainsley Berlingeri made the start, working through the first inning and into the second before handing the ball to Tess Bumiller, who threw four innings and recorded two strikeouts. Tretton closed the final two‑thirds of an inning and added a strikeout of her own.
