Box Score RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Basketball closed out its homestand on Saturday afternoon, falling to San Diego State, 78-64.

The Pack (8-17, 4-11 MW) fell behind early, but saw momentum swing its way in the fourth quarter after outscoring San Diego State (20-4, 14-1 MW), 29-9. Five out of six Nevada steals came in the final 10 in an attempt to build a comeback.

Nevada had its highest shooting percent of the season from the charity stripe, going a perfect 10-for-10. The Pack grabbed just one less rebound than the Aztecs, with 33. 

San Diego State opened up the game with a 7-2 run in the first few minutes of play. Halfway through the first, Nevada fell into a drought of nearly three minutes while San Diego State went on a 7-0 run to go up by 10. 

Nevada continued to struggle through the second quarter as San Diego State went on two more long runs to create distance. The Pack hit only two of its last 10 field goals of the second quarter, and closed out the half with a three-minute scoring drought. 

The Aztecs continued to pull away in the third quarter, building the largest lead of the game of 35.

The final quarter began with a 6-0 run by the Pack, holding the Aztecs scoreless for the first three minutes. Nevada cut the lead all the way from 32 to start the fourth, down to 14.

The defense of Nevada forced five turnovers in the last four minutes alone and had a 16-1 run over the final three and a half.

Makayla Carter and Maia Rosarion came off the bench to lead all players in scoring with 14 points after both going 6-for-8 from the floor. Skylar Durley had 11 points and led both teams in rebounds with six. 

Nevada will head on the road to face Colorado State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
